He is the head of the Deloitte & Touche European and German Transfer Pricing Team and a member of the Deloitte & Touche German Merger and Acquisition Task Force.

Dr. Kroppen is the editor and co-author of the leading German publication on transfer pricing, co-author of the IBFD publication "The International Guide to Mergers and Acquisitions", editor and co-author of a leading German publication on double taxation treaties, and co-author of the leading German personal and corporate income tax commentary. He is also the editor of the International Tax and Business Magazine IWB.

Dr. Kroppen is a member of the tax board of the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany as well as a member of the board of the International Tax Association Rhein/Ruhr. He is also a lecturer on International Tax Law at the Ruhr-University in Bochum. He has been appointed by the EU Commission as one of ten business experts in Europe to the EU Joint Transfer Pricing Forum. In the most recent survey of "International Tax Review" he was named as one of the 5 leading tax advisors in Germany as the only representative of the Big 4 accounting firms. He has also been named as one of the leading tax advisors for Germany in the latest Euromoney poll. Recently, Dr. Kroppen has been appointed to the Transfer Pricing Advisory Board of the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD).
